Sorry for the late post everyone! Unfortunately it's been a bit hectic since coming home from our holiday but I finally got a moment to write this post full of images of our holiday (and these are only a few!) enjoy :)
Lyon:
The cuisine was devine; from croissants in the morning (well, for Nick and
his Aunt and Uncle) and baguettes (gluten free version for me!) plus cheeses,
meats, salads, chocolates, nougat and lots of wine too! We were very lucky to
be staying with Nick's relatives in Lyon, not only was it lovely to spend time
with them, but they even took us to places we would never have found by
ourselves, just look at the streets and views we saw when walking around
Cremieu:

And these are just a few pictures of what we saw in Perouges...

The language - both Nick and I studied French at school and it's definitely
been a few years since we last practiced speaking it. When it came to talking
with the locals, I was pleasantly surprised how much i still understood and
could speak but i will admit, i always started a conversation with 'parlez vous Anglais?!'
The city - when we visited the heart of Lyon, Nick and I became true
tourists. Going on a sightseeing tour bus which took us right up to the
Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere, shopping in Bellecour, visiting Vieux Lyon
to look inside Cathedrale St-Jean and walk along it's cobbled streets and
secret passageways, oh and not forgetting enjoying a yummy snack at a local
cafe...(pic of Nick eating Crepe)

We even spotted a cafe named after me!

Geneva:
What culture, history and beauty! Only a 2 hour train journey from Lyon, we
hopped on the train first thing and when we arrived, we checked into our hotel
and found the nearest tour bus which luckily went from centre of town. We were
driven up to the UN, along the lake so we could see the famous jet d'Eau and
then we headed to the Old Town where we went on foot around more cobbled
streets and ended up by The University of Geneva and Opera House! There was
definitely less rain that day which meant when the sun did come out, it was not
only perfect for us to have a wander, but we could really how beautiful Geneva
really is.

We had a wonderful time away and even though the weather wasn't
particularly great, it was still wonderful to see Nick's relatives, relax and
generally spend time in a completely different culture for a few days.
Where to next??
